This is because the so-called under-sink water filters are installed under the sink in the kitchen or under the washbasin in the bathroom.
So you always have fresh water - straight from the tap.
There are 3 different ways to connect the under-sink water filter? We present them to you - and briefly describe the advantages and disadvantages.
A. With additional water tap
With this under-sink water filter option, you need a second tap on your sink for clean and filtered drinking water.
Drinking water and service water are therefore clearly separated and you can always use the right water separately for cooking or drinking.
If you choose this option, an additional hole must be drilled in the worktop or sink. Finally, a second tap must be installed.
If a low-pressure boiler or low-pressure instantaneous water heater is also to be used, the filter system must be installed first.
B. 3-way fitting
This option does not require an additional hole in the sink. The filtered water can be fed through a third opening in a special 3-way fitting.
A kitchen tap usually has two connections - for hot and cold water. With a 3-way fitting, there is also a separate line for filtered water.
So you have several openings in your tap - one for the so-called cold or warm service water and one for the filtered drinking water.
C. Use of an existing fitting
This variant only applies to our AcquaPhi Universo filter. Here, the filter is connected directly to the pipe for the cold water. This means that all the cold water is filtered. With this option, the existing fitting can be used, so drilling or replacing it with a 3-way fitting is not necessary.
